Net Casino Sucker Wagers — Part 1

  • Proposition bets in Craps: These Craps bets basically means you are betting that a particular feature will develop on the next toss. For example, you might make the ‘hard ways’ bet, which indicates that you are wagering that the shooter will roll a 4, 6, 8 or 10 by rolling a double. These wagers have a house advantage of anywhere from 9.1-11.1%. This is a huge casino advantage, and it is incredibly atypical that they hit.
  • Tie wager in Baccarat: This is a bet that neither the dealer or the player will come away with a win, but that both hands will tie. This is an exceedingly abnormal occurrence in net baccarat banque, therefore the casino advantage is high. At fourteen% casino edge, this is the quintisential definition of a sucker bet.
  • Insurance in Black Jack: Although chemin de fer has one of the smallest house advantages (and there is also a lot of talent required), this is a sucker wager. Dependent on how many decks are being employed and the rules of the table, the house advantage of this is at least five percent, but can be as great as 14%. Only very experienced card counters can make this bet function for them, and even then it remains a sucker wager.
